Left-luggage office in Tashkent?

Country forums / Central Asia / Uzbekistan

Salom,
we will arrive by train in Tashkent around 6 o'clock in the morning and depart by plane very late in the evening. Is there an left luggage office in the train station or on the airport?

Don't know about the airport, but I do know that both Samarkand and Tashkent train stations have a left-luggage office. Don't count on the staff being able to understand English, though. If you can't manage a little Russian, they might be able to track down someone to help translate.

I stored three bags there this morning for 3000 sum. (about $1.50) I assume this is for 24 hours - our language skills were not compatible enough for me to know exactly what the guy said.

I left the stuff pretty early, like 6 am.. the office was dark, but I waited outside until some train employee saw me and knocked on the door for me. Three guys were in the left luggage place, they had been there in the dark all along. Which was kinda weird, I thought, but they were nice enough.

So if the office looks dark, try it...

P.S. It is on the lower level. Go out to the train platform, turn right, and there will be a staircase to the "VIP zal". Take those stairs. When you get to the bottom you will be right in front of the left luggage office.

(This is for Tashkent station, but Samarkand is similar)

Thanks for reply. Meanwhile we were there twice. It was just 300 Som per bag.
