Learning dutch for a native arabic speakerInterest forums / Speaking in Tongues
Could someone point me in the right direction of some books on learning Dutch for a native Arabic speaker? I've tried searching the internet, but to no avail. Many thanks Which means that the explanations should be written in Arabic. :)
I think you're asking about finding a Dutch grammar book for Arabic speaker. I found this by googling Dutch for Arabic speakers. I think if you searched in Arabic or Dutch you'd find more resources. As a language teacher, I would recommend that you forget the grammar books and just immerse yourself in language. Television programs, radio, internet sites in Dutch, magazines and comic books will help you learn vocabulary and grammar without having to study it. Buy a simple dictionary, and use a small notebook or flashcard to write down what you've learned and then study it when you have a few minutes. | 1
Oops, the link to the grammar book didn't get included in the message: this | 2
It is not a grammar book per se, but a good all round book for a native arabic speaker who wishes to learn dutch. I had previously searched on the internet and had already found the book in your link, but there is no information available on it and when I searched for the ISBN number it returned as being no longer available. I am looking for this for a friend and neither they nor I live in the Netherlands and therefore do not have access to the media, and even if one did one still needs to know what the words mean. As I've said I'm trying to find some books which teach dutch to arabic speakers but cannot find anything useful online in a language I understand and can ascertain the quality of said book. Many thanks | 3
Intertaal is a shop in Amsterdam specializing in language books. If these books exist, they will sell them. Their website is not great, but you could try to call or e-mail them. The people who work there are very helpful and knowledgeable. | 4
Thanks for your help Shilgia. I've sent them an email and will let you know the outcome. | 5
