| riaskayanyc04:42 UTC17 Nov 2007 | Hello,
Found LADE airlines flight from El Calafate to Bariloche for 412 ARG (US $131?) which I can make a reservation for online. Has anyone done this? How reliable is this airline and is this an accurate price? Has anyone had a good/bad experience with ordering tickets via their site?
We will be traveling back toward Santiago in order to make a flight back to US, so any unforeseen delays may really become a problem. Also - don't speak much Spanish, so in case serious issues come up, we're a little on the mute side...
Thought much appreciated. If anyone can suggest alternate cheap/fast/reliable ways for getting from Puerto Natales or El Calafate back up to either Coyahique/Chaiten/Chacabuco or all the way to Puerto Montt, I am all ears.
Thanks in advance, Maria
PS: We got about 13 days to go from Punta Arenas back to Santiago. Is that reasonable?

> > > For about 3 weeks I have been trying to book flights in Argentina in November with LADE. I phone the airline every day and I am told that the programme/timetable for November is not available yet so I am unable to book. They advise me to phone the next day when hopefully the programme will be available, but it never is and it will be November very soon. Is this usual or is there some underlying problem with LADE at the moment that I am not aware? I cannot book any hotels or connecting flights until I book the LADE flights so it is quite frustrating. If anybody has any information about this I would really appreciate it.
There is a poster here who always says that this airline has 3 planes. Another one said that they have 33 planes. The other day I went to LADE“s central offices in Buenos Aires. The employees were very polite but refused to tell me how many planes they have. They said more than three but less than 33. They suggested that it was a very small airline trying to promote travel to towns were big airlines do not go.
Do not waste your time with this airline. It is not working properly. They use planes which belong to the military which have big budget problems. It does not have planes enough to cover its routes. The only reliable airlines for domestic flights are Aerolineas Argentinas and LAN Argentina.

| fernando20:29 UTC17 Nov 2007 | you have other alternatives a) at less two bus lines going to Punta Arenas-Osorno-P.Montt, in Osorno can get off and catch a direct bus to Santiago b) a cheap flight Punta Arenas-Balmaceda (airport of Coyhaique) from there ferry to Quellon or P. Montt or bus along Carretera Austral North until Chaiten, there ferry to Chiloe or Puerto Montt
