Krakow and skiing - againCountry forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Poland
Hi travellers, I and my boyfriend are coming to Krakow on the 28th and want to spent one night in the city. We are looking for an unexpensive (is it possible?), cozy, possibly romantic place to stay for one night. I've done some research and it looks like only hostels will fit our budget. Any recommendations? Now the hardest part - on the 29th we want to head off skiing. I've been trying to book an accommodation, but of course, it's too late now and everything is fully booked. I was told that there will certainly be cancellation around Xmas time. However I don't want to wait so long and wondered if you know any place ANYWHERE in the Zakopane area or in the west, i.e. Ustron. I'm easy where it is as long as it's not too far from Krakow (where we're flying from) and has some slopes for skiing virgins (myself).

snow is not at all garanteed there/then | 2
Hi, staying in Krakow you can try Siepraw - easy slope for beginners near Krakow. To go there you can take the mini bus from the bus station. As for the accomodation, you could indeed look from door to door. You may be lucky to find sth, but on the net you can book in advance. Try typing "wolne pokoje" in google.pl. Bialka Tatrzanska is nice for beginners as well. There is bigger chance for the snow as well. Have fun and watch snow reports before you plan anything. We dont have such a lot of it lately. | 3
Just go to Zakopane early on the day and look for people advertising rooms. | 4
Thanks everyone! I think we'll just catch a bus/train from Krakow in the morning and try to find a room once we've arrived. Or just go elswhere. Back to sweet backapacking.. :) Cheers and happy Christmas! | 5
