Jirisan National Park- hiking/camping

Hey all, I have some vacation time to take in a couple weeks and am wanting to head to Jirisan for a few days of hiking/camping. Can anyone give me any tips, advice, direction, etc... about doing this? Also, I am heading alone, any crime issues? I am assuming it is much like the rest of South Korea and very safe.
