Itinerary advice 1 month Argentina!

Hi All!

I've been blessed with the opportunity to travel for 1 month to Argentina end of Feb till - end of March (so in 3 weeks :) ). My main aim is Patagonia and Torres del Paine to enjoy hiking (sleeping in a lodge, no camping), Perito Moreno and Tango. I'm puzzling with the itinerary and hope if you would give me feedback if it is feasible.

Hike Laguna Torre or do glacier trek on the Lago Viedma and the adjacent Glacier Viedma.

@15 - 1 read somewhere that there is a 4 day hike in the Fitz Roy range, but i can't really find any information (other than camping, and that i will not do)

- I read that whale season is over, but just no i read that it will be Orca season (15 February - 15 April) Where would that be?
- I would feel that Bariloche could be skipped. if need be.

Bariloche as a town is not so great. There is very good trekking in the surrounding area, if you feel you need to do more.
Mendoza is a 15-20 hour bus ride from Salta so not really a "side trip". There is a less famous wine region near Salta that might interest you. To see the Salta area you need more than 1 day. For me it is my favourite part of Argentina and worth much more time.
Seems you are doing backtracking away and back to El Calafate. If you can afford it I would see everything in the Calafate area, head to TdP and then fly from Punta Arenas (near TdP) to Santiago (worth a day or 2), bus over the Andes to Mendoza (7 hours) and then bus to Salta. This is a lot of time on a bus, but certainly less than Calafate to Bariloche (24 hours) and Bariloche to Salta (30+ hours).

There is. But there are no refugios. You will have to camp.

If you want to do some winery stuff - the closest to Salta would be Cafayate - its a few hours away on bus. But probably not a day trip.

Orca season - would be on the Peninsula Valdes - where the orcas breach and beach to attack seals.

Whilst you are in BA, you have to visit La Cabrera in Palermo. It is a steak restaurant and I can honestly say it was one of the best I steaks I have ever had. Plus it's reasonably priced! It's very popular though, so it may be worth booking. Also, be cautious of taxi men, we had one accuse of giving him counterfeit money!
