Is it possible to hire a guide in kakku Pagoda without to go to Taunggyi

Hi everyone,

We are soon going from Naypyidaw to Nyaungshwe by car. We would like to go to Kakku Pagodas on the way. Is it possible to hire a guide directly in Kakku, or is it only possible in Taunggyi to hire a guide ?

You need to take Pa Oo Guide in Taunggyi , there are no guide in Kakku Pagoda.

Kakku is nowhere near the Naypyidaw to NS road, you have to cross a mountain range to the east to get there. Going from Inle to Taunggy makes more sense.

If you're going by car from Nyaung Shwe to Kakku, you will have to go through Taunggyi anyway ... Probably you can pre-arrange the guide in Nyaung Shwe, so only need to pick him/her up on the way ... I went there 1 year ago without any guide, self driving by car, but I guess thats nothe official wy to do it ;-) If you decie to trek there from Nyaugshwe (2 days?) you very likely also won't have to go to Taunggyi first, as your trekking guide will arrange it from there somehow ...

when are you going to Kakku? I have a plan to there too and I'm alone. maybe we can share the car cost?

Did it in november from Inle,yes u will pick up the guide at the office on the way,however when we went ,everybody was off to a ceremony,they wrote a paper that we would visit without a guide,in any case do not miss it as u should not miss inthein as well
