Irish Rental/Car Hire Companies

Can anyone recommend a good rental car company in Ireland?

Hi....

Just Google - cheap rent-a-car Ireland.

Hertz

Thrifty are usually pretty good value and use good cars. But (as with all rental companies) look out for the astronomic cost of 'extra' insurance and so on.

3

Dublin and Belfast rent-a-car prices can vary quite a bit.
Where are you arriving?

I will be arriving at Dublin airport mid-September and plan to drive from there.

Just be careful about the extra incident ins. You can get EU insurance to cover you, about £40 anually. You can get serious billing for a scratch, watch wheel trims against the pavement.

iCarhireinsurance.com ?

Rented a car twice this year - Jan 12 and last week. Both with Thrifty, I've had no problems, friendly staff and the cars have been in a good condition. I would advise a sat nav if this is your first time. Lots of country roads so be careful! Irish Car Rentals is doing all inclusive quotes if that is what you prefer.

Enjoy!

Great recommendation on #1 post!

Last year we rented with Dan Dooley .... and they have a rental site just outside of Dublin airport, and provide a shuttle to it.
They were fine .... no issues, easy pickup and drop-off, we had no incidents and therefore and all went well. As others have stated, just make sure you have the right insurance and everything is covered, which can sometimes be pricey.
