Just to let you know if anyone is going to Iranian Consulate in Brussles for visa application.

Although their official website states the Consulate is open Monday am, Wednesday pm and Friday am, these hours are in fact for Iranians and they actualy have separate hours for foreign visa application now, which is Monday and Thursday 15.30 - 16.30.

Unlike some inhuman waiting condition I've experienced in other consulates before, the Iranian Consulate here was a very civilised place - nice sitting area with water cooler and Iranian satelite TV. And the young staff who dealt with my case was so smiley and friendly I got almost suspicious! The day after I put in the application, he phoned me to say the visa was ready. (And he was still smiling when I went to collect the passport...)

Hi Pianeko,

Im glad you had such an easy and fun time in getting visa for Iran! Only one day, you said? pretty impressive especially for an Iranian embassy no mater where. How long is your visa valid for? Just curious. Bye.

Hi amiriniran,

Yes, it was surprisingly easy - I was really expecting much worse! Though getting the authorisation code was very long and tiresome process (it involved lots of angry emails from my husband to a certain company...).

We got one-month visa; once the authorisation code came through I went to the consulate with forms and photos (no awkward questions, no hassle), the next day I went to pick our passports up.

There is also a drawback. The visa fee has doubled:
Last year, I paid +/- 30 EUR (can't remember exactly). The visa was done on the spot (provided you had your confirmation/authorization number), but the guys didn't speak English.

Now, there is a young guy (I suspect him to be living in Belgium for years) speaking perfect French, it's nearly slang actually ;-)
They also keep your passport and send it back a couple of days later through a recommended (tracked) letter.
But you pay the price of all this conmfort: 68 EUR for a 30 days single-entry visa.
And oh, yeah, if you're not aware of the new opening hours (as I did), they deal with your visa too with a smile ;-)
