| audioradar13:27 UTC05 Aug 2007 | I'm comming into Costa Rica @ the end of August in search of fine music. I'll be traveling for about 10, and am interested in seeing ANY & EVERY TYPE OF MUSIC that the locale cradles. If anyone is going to concerts, raves, any event, or knows artists to check out while I am there, your efforts will be MUCH APPRECIATED by afellow audiogypsy.

| bluefrog5908:46 UTC06 Aug 2007 | Catch the weekend guide in La Nacion (I think it is included in the Thursday edition). You'll find a number of options. Two great bands to watch out for would be Editus and Marfil.

| maldicion23:32 UTC06 Aug 2007 | hahah.
cahuita is always good to find some reggae actually played with real instruments!
actually tim, club 360 (second floor) in tres rios (at the mall) west of san jo is a house/techno club and occaisionally has big, advertised parties, maybe not quite RAVE, but close. Tiesto played there a few years ago when i was down once.
sands in san pedro draws the dog collar and black eyeliner crowd for music.
Anochecer in san pedro- one of my favorite places, has a sand floor and is candlelit, used to have a guy named bernardo quesada doing acoustic on thursday nights and he was awesome. not sure if he still plays there- when i was in san jose in september i saw him on the front page of the weekend section, but keep the name in mind.
there used to be a really small legit rock n roll bar in el pueblo but i think it closed.
thats all i can remember for now, i dont remember anything real specific on the coasts because those places ive only been once or twice

| ticotim08:40 UTC07 Aug 2007 | Walter Ferguson is a treat.
I saw and spoke to Gweneth Paltrow and her husband (Coldplay) Sunday at the Talkhouse in Amagansett NY, and she said they bought a home in Costa Rica, he loves to surf, him and Ed Birns surf a lot in Montuak, but she made me promise I would not tell anyone...Its in Guanacaste.
So, now the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode and Coldplay all have a home in CR, all surfers..
