How much in advance should I book accommodation?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hi, I am planning to go to Fiji (Yasawa mainly) for 2 weeks, in Christmas and New Years time. I was willing to go on a kind of flexible trip, make the booking being there, a couple of days before, but a bit afraid because of the dates. Someone has been there at that season that could say how full are normally the resorts. Thanks in advance! Edited by: pilo
normally you can just book as you go through the Yasawas but the resorts aren't big and that time of year many will want to do what you have in mind, so I'd be atleast contacting the resorts direct NOW to get things happening. try beachcomber, octopus and hmmm, what's the one with the perfect white sandy beach right up top?? | 1

Thanks Thurston, seems i'll have to start making bookings :). | 3
no youve got it worng, the first island group is the flatter Mananunca set, then above that runs a string of higher old volcanoes, these r the Yasawa group, a high speed cat does a direct Yasawa run up each morning popping into each little resort each about 20-30 minutes further along the 4 hour run north, Octopus is about half way up, Oarsman one of a few places at the end of the line. the boat then returns from there headed to Nadi leaving about 1.30ish pm from memory arriving Nadi about 6ish | 4
I once tried to book a place in the Yasawas in October, for Christmas/NewYears. It, and all of the main places, were already full. Same for the Mamanuca's. I went to Tonga instead. | 5
