How do I find a cottage near the sea AND near a pub?!

I'm struggling to find a holiday cottage to rent in September which is within walking distance of the sea and a pub! I never thought it would be difficult but it seems that a lot of Irish holiday lets are pretty remote or within a holiday village (not something I want!).

Any advice? I've tried various sites with filters for proximity to beach/pub but it seems that a mile away is close - we want staggering distance!

Any ideas?

Enniscrone would be an option. I'm not 100% it meets your description but I don't regard the lets as being in a 'holiday village' (there are houses which face onto the beach but then I struggle as to what cottage means), it is a town with several pubs and very good beaches. Have a look at Aughris in County Sligo. There is a lovely pub called the Beach Bar by the sea - there is a B&B, some mobile homes and a few houses for rent in the area. Its a really peaceful place for a weekend - the cliff walk around Aughris is wonderful, as is Dunmoran Strand.
