Hotel in Rome and Transportation to Civitavecchia Port

We are making a transatlantic crossing from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida leaving the port of Rome (Civitavecchia) October 5, 2007. We are flying into Rome on October 4 and would like any suggestions/recommendations concerning a hotel ($250 or so) and a way to get to the port. We were in Rome on tour several months ago and are not really concerned about seeing the sights. Thanks
