Hostel Choices in Antigua

Country forums / Central America / Guatemala

Hey everyone, I am arriving to Antigua from the Airport in 2 months. I would just like to know which of the following hostels to pick. If you have stayed at any of these places (or similar) for at least 1 or 2 nights, I would appreciate your feedback.

A Place To Stay Hostal
Hostal Colonial
Somos Hostal Q75
El Hostal (near to cafe sky)

And I am not sure about these:
El Pasar de los AƱos
Huellas Hostal
Matiox (a little further out)
San Jeronimo (Posada)

Some things I'm looking for in the hostel: NOT a party hostel, Shared kitchen (in case I want to cook) Decent wifi (to work/research) - Warm shower - Refill drinking water. But the most important thing is the condition of the dorm beds as well as the overall design and amount of roominess in the dorm. I would like to keep the cost less than $10/night. Cheers!

I haven't stayed in the dorm, so can't comment about the beds, but Hostel Villa Esthela meets your requirements:

They have one single private room for about $11/night as well.
I know that they used to have a second property that they only rented out by the week. If you are staying long term it might be worth asking about.
