Hiking in Jungfrau

Country forums / Western Europe / Switzerland

I'm going to be in Lauterbrunnen for 2 days in late April and wanted to do some hiking. On the second day however I need to be at the Interlaken OST station by 6pm. I have an excursion planned for each day. Which would be best for the 2nd day?

Tram - Lauterbrunnen>>Grutschalp 7am
Hike - Grutschalp>>Winteregg>>Murren>>Gimmelwald>>Stechelberg>>Trummelbach Falls>>Lauterbrunnen

Train - Lauterbrunnen>>Jungfraujoch (7am Good morning pass)
Train - Jungfraujoch>>Kleine Scheidegg (12pm)
Hike - Kleine Scheidegg>>Wengen
Train - Wengen>>Lauterbrunnen

Can either of these be done between 7am - 5pm so I can be at Interlaken OST by 6pm? I ask because If Jungfraujoch is foggy 1 day I want to be able to alternate.

Thanks!

Both hikes are perfectly possible ini this time frame. In the worst case, you could even board a train at Wengernalp resp a bus at Truemmelbach. A Gimmelwald - Stechelberg shortcut by gondola would be possible too.
You may find some snow between Kleine Scheidegg and Wengernalp in late April. Actually, this trail is prepared as winter hiking trail (with snow smelting more and more every day).

Thank you meckerdv. You've been a great resource for planning the Swiss portion of my Europe trip.
