High Speed Trains

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Ukraine

Going to the Euro, and will be seeing a lot of games; will have to travel quite a bit.

Now I know the high speed trains will be ready, but does anyone know when and where tickets will be available?

I would much rather take the high speed train to the standard train, but it seems like no information is out there.

Thanks.

where tickets will be available?

At the same ticket offices as common train tickets, for sure.

Almost nothing is known yet, since UZ (Ukrainian Railways) still testing new trains on Ukrainian rail. As of now only on Kyiv-Kharkiv express train is on for a new timetable. Obviously until UZ will be sure about potential schedule no sales will be open.

Thanks for the info; helps.

Also I noticed june 10th no trains available from Harkov to Doneck. Is that normal? Weird since I can get a ticket from Doneck to Harkov on June 12th?

During this time of the year weird things like this can happen with UZ. Mainly because of the upcoming train timetable change + now UZ will try to introduce a number of new trains. As result not all the new schedules are known yet. No definite and agreed by all the parties schedule= no ticket sale. Guess schedules for Donetsk-Kharkiv are already known(=sale is open), while vice versa direction not yet. At least it seems like the only possible explanation.

thanks for that link #4
How is that possible the train was 10 cm too wide and got damaged in a collision with the platform. Wouldn't want to be in the shoes of the engineer who approved the design

I think it's not the engineer, but the stupid Ukrainian government, that ordered incompatible trains.
