Help me pick two must-dive sites at ROATAN

Interest forums / Diving & Snorkelling

I'll have time to do just two dives at Roatan while touring the area and would like advice.

1) For an experienced diver, what TWO dive sites would you recommend?
2) What dive op would you recommend?

Thanks! Q.

Mary's Place, El Aguila
West End Divers

mary's place, west end wall...

dolphin's den on the north side near pollytilly bight is a gorgeous cavern dive, great swim-throughs from the inside of the reef to the outside, & the lighting makes for great photography. a shallow dive, unlikely to get deeper than 12-14m, but one of the best dives i've ever done on roatan. heaps of silversides- probably what attracted the dolphins which got trapped in here & gave the site its name.

mary's place is pretty cool, so too the wrecks- prince albert, el aguila, the odyssey...

I want to mark "helpful" and award a star to tpq525, but the site isn't giving me that option at the moment, so here's a big THANKS! to tpq as well as to andi an stevep. If others have suggestions, in particular regarding operators (West End Divers has been mentioned already), please keep them coming!

Also, I've posted the same basic question in regard to Grand Cayman and Belize, so if you have the info, please pass it my way!

i didn't get to do hole in the wall... but i heard it's great. i liked spooky channel. dove with a small, but professional and safety-conscientious dive company called reef gliders.

Yes - Hole in the Wall is another good one.
