Help - Accommodation in Syria

Hi Everyone,

In a bit of a bind here - partner and I are travelling to the middle east from Australia next month. Visiting a friend in Dubai who suggested we also go to Syria to see something a bit different so we took her advice and we're looking forward to the trip. My partner is a bit cautioous when travelling and wants to book hotels for Syria in advance. What's the easiest way for us to go about doing this? I have to admit, if we are going down this track, that it would also be nice to have all the hotels paid for before we arrive in Damascus in late October.

Any ideas? I'm aware time is running out and other half is starting to really stress me out!!

Would really appreciate any advice anyone can offer.

Thanks for your reply - I had a look at the site but there are no hotels listed for Syria - perhaps I'm looking in the wrong area - just bounces back to the homepage.

You are right. Last year, I booked there hotels in Damascus, Aleppo, Palmyra, Ma'alula and Amman .... and it worked.

You really dont need advance bookings for Syria, damascushostel.com offers teh best service for advance booking in the mid range hotels, I might start with an advance book for the first town I was in, but still not necessary. You will want to see the rooms, and also have the chance to negotiate prices and such, you shouldnt run into a problem wiht room availability since you are coming after the tourist and busy season. I hope this helps a bit.
