Have you cycled on Mike's Bike Tour in Amsterdam?

Country forums / Western Europe / Netherlands

Hi,

I'm writing an article for a UK travel magazine about top worldwide cycling destinations.
In particular I'm looking for people who may have cycled in Amsterdam - and preferably on Mike's Bike Tour (although not essential)

If you've done this and would like to be featured please let me know asap - would involve sending me a couple of pics and answering some questions over email in next few days.

Thanks :)

I have and I highly recommended. Mike and his buddies are very intelligent and humorous making a very exciting tour. You'll learn history, some of the language and see how clogs are made. I'll never forget that ride through the countryside!

A little bit of the tour is in a video I made...

Have a seriously good time!

Sorry, never heard of Mike's Bike Tour. And I'm a fanatic cyclist. I know about Cycletours, they offer a cyclig fortnight called Boat and Bike (www.cycletours.nl).
About cycling in Amsterdam: it's an efficient way to discover and check things in a short time. But this is of course not only in Amsterdam.
And I shouldn't leave alone my bike and stroll around in the Van Gogh Museum for some hours, so the trip will be limited to outside highlights.
Having said so riding is Amsterdam for strangers (and foreigners are, aren't they?) is almost borderline-miserable, because of the tramrails and the lack of discipline of your fellow-riders and esp. drivers. Take the metro, tram or hop-on hop-off possibilities to check this town.
There are much better places in the Netherlands to ride ad enjoy!

If you like I copy this question to the Wereldfietser (World cyclist) site. Many members are living in Amsterdam.
