Guru in Residence at a Resort?

Interest forums / Gap Year & Round the World Travel

My brother insists that some of the posh resorts he's been to host an occasional "guru in residence" teaching on a particular subject or a well-known author. I am a well-known author in my field and this sounds attractive.

Has anyone ever been to a resort with a "guru in residence"? Does this really exist? If so, where?

My bro says that it's a way of attracting a particular traveler. My market would be singles, if so, and I do have a following.

Any advice on this would be most welcome, if you've heard of the phenomenon. Also any clues as to which resorts do this sort of thing would be great!

Thanks in advance!!

Would this sort of organisation be of any help? LINK

Wishing you well

Rory

Cruise ships due this all the time. Try writing the cruse lines themselves. In exchange for a couple of seminars/day, you can get the cruise for free. Though with what they charge for drinks, you might still spend a fortune.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I am EXTREMELY seasick so not sure about the cruise ship option (and thank God I don't drink to incur that expense!) and I did write the other folks about their adventure tours -- that sounds perfect.

Again, big appreciation for your kind suggestions!

warmly,
Kathryn
