Guided Hiking trips in the Alps

Interest forums / Trekking & Mountaineering

Hi!

I'm wondering if anyone could give me information on hiking tours/courses in the alps? I'm planning on spending a month or two in the alps this summer and wish to start hiking. I am reasonable fit but have never properly hiked before and I shall be travelling solo so I think it would be wise to join a guided tour.

A bit about me: 22, college graduate, no idea what I want to with my life, love walking, hiking and scenery. I have been skiing in Saalbach, Austria and Laveno, Italy and Stechelburg, Switzerland was a stop on my inter railing trip. Now I want to return to the alps to do some hiking this summer!

Any information or links would be greatly appreciated. I have done some research but there's nothing like information from people who have done it before!

Thank you!

Hello, there are plenty of geman, swiss and austrian trekking agencies offering all kind of hiking tours in the Alps.
The biggest german tour operators are DAV Summit club, Hauser, DAKS, Diamir
For sure, most of the people there are german speaking, but there will be some who speak English.
I'm actually planning to do the Stubaier Höhenweg this summer (about 8 days, walk from mountain hut to mountain hut, about 50 Euro per day).
