Great ocean road

Me and my friend (both English girls) are looking to do a two day trip along the great ocean road. We will be hiring a car and will have two or three spaces for anyone looking to do the same thing and would like to join us. It is likely to be between the 15th and 18th January. Just in case you are not aware of this, the Great Ocean Road has just suffered its worse fire in 30 years, with hundreds of homes lost and the road closed. It should be fully reopened by then, the main tourist towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay have not been touched, and the major tourist sites are at the far end of the road near Port Campbell, a long way from the fire. However, it is still burning, may flare up again, and depending on wind may threaten Lorne and cut the road again. So, keep a a close eye on local media like ABC radio and local newspapers.
Also, this is absolute peak holiday season, and, absent fires, this area is packed this time of year with every room booked out, so, book ahead or you may end up on a long drive with no where to stay.
