GPS Navigation app for iPhone 4 for traveling in Turkey?

Interest forums / Travel Tech

Hi,

I'll be traveling to Turkey for about 3 weeks and driving all along the coast from Izmir-Antalya. I am trying to pack light but will be bringing my iPhone (with an int'l plan), so I was wondering if anyone knew of a good GPS Navigation app for it that I could use while in Turkey? Preferably one that would allow me to load my points of interest before hand and be able to download the maps ahead of time.

Thanks!

I too would also like to hear the answer to this question.

The only thing keeping me with Nokia is the amazing Ovi maps- which work perfectly, can be downloaded before hand and are able to have POI input into them. As far as I know, iphone and android dont really have any map apps that can compete against the Nokia maps. Yes, they have google and open street maps but it seems it requires a lot of effort to properly load the full maps onto the device with the right map resolution and map sections.

If anyone can correct me or suggest a proper all-in-one map app that works well, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have installed both iGo Primo Western Europe & iGo Primo NZ Australia on my iPhone4 and used in rural Italy and New Zealand.
When overseas I turn off both Data roaming & 3G and the device worked perfectly with minimal Vodafone charges.
Am about to purchase iGo Primo Turkey Navigator which I assume will work just as well and about NZ$20 cheaper than TomTom.
It is great to use in pedestrian mode or finding location when travelling by train.
So convenient attached with $20 windscreen suction mount to any hired car.
