any reason why specifically lorong 25 in geylang?

you do know the reason behind odd and even numbered lorongs

get a good hotel anywhere, Singapore is small, you don't have to stay close.

The MRT is cheap, and quick. here is a map

The Geylang stop would be Aljunied.

geylang happens to be singapore's premier red light district
but singapore being singapore
the prostitutes and pimps are only allowed business along the even numbered lorongs
the lorongs get good foot traffic from customers. so it does get abit busy

the odd numbered lorongs are filled with exceptionally good restaurants
and these also tend to be quite busy

Hootie, I don't think that this is the reason at all. I thought that the lorongs to the North were even numbered and the ones to the South were odd. There are "establishments" (and hotels) on just about every street in the district. And technically there is not supposed to be street prostitution in Singapore...just licensed brothels....so the girls out on the street are violating the law, which is why they all disappear when their cell phones ring from a lookout who sees a cop.

The restaurants are all on the main street, and the junctions, not in the Lorongs. Some of the lorongs have Chinese Clan houses and benevolent societies and no brothels.

Actually I got it backwards "Odd on top (north); Even below (south)" and the Lorongs are a little offset.

Just type

maps.google.com

Tons of Fragrance and Hotel 81's in that area. Also there's I think it's called the Lai Ming Cosmoland just opposite the corner of L25 and Geylang. Could get noisy as there's a red-light area out back and a well-frequented sea food restaurant in front.

well they do appear and they do walk around
but its all quite organised. this is singapore after all

looks like youre here for a religious visit
the locale will definitely be an interesting contrast for your purpose

Does all of the Geylang is the prostitution area? I heard that some are not, that they're quite nice with decent hotels and foods.

Anybody know which area is it ?
