Getting to Dingle from London: Train or Fly?

Country forums / UK & Ireland / Ireland

Driving from Dublin to Dingle sounds tragic, so which airport can I fly into from London? or shoudl I train it from Dublin?

Ryanair from Stansted to Kerry Airport and then get a bus or taxi.

#1. And hope that you don't find the taxi driver who I met last time I did that journey. He had problems finding one of the biggest streets in Tralee despite having lived in the town all his life. He maintained that the place didn't exist and I must have had my details wrong. It did exist and I hadn't;)

A combined trainferrytrain through ticket from London to Tralee costs £42 one-way, £84 return, via the Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire or Holyhead-Dublin ferry.

This isn't a special offer with limited availability, it's the regular unlimited-availability fare, centre to centre (remember a train from london out to the airport is £13 each way).

See www.seat61.com/Ireland.htm</a> for times, fares and how to buy tickets - basically, you call the SailRail booking ine on 08450 755 755 or buy at any railway station.

Hey c'mon #3, you've been around Ireland long enough to know you direct small town Irish taxi drivers by pub, not street name... if you'd said 'between O'Donoghues and Ryans', you'd have got there no problem....

#4. PhilipD. Thanks for that tip. We eventually confirmed the existence of the street through his control office. Tralee isn't that big ;)
