Getting from Bodrum to Istanbul in 1 day

Hi,
I want to travel from bodrum to istanbul next week. I've heard that the bus takes forever but i can't really find much information about the ferry. i was just wondering the best way to get there. thanks

Why would there be a ferry? And even if there was one, what makes you think it would be faster than a bus?
