Gaelic / country music players

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Laos

Hi all,

Bit of a long shot - but I have seen individuals on the road that take an instrument with them. I am wondering if any of you have taken a musical instrument with you, or are able to play one? and will be in Luang Prabang, Laos in Jan/Feb '14.

In particular, I am looking for Gaelic/folk types, Bag pipes, Uillean pipes, Irish flutes, violin etc. I work for a non-profit in Laos, and am hoping to put on a bit of a cultural music afternoon/exchange with kids in Luang Prabang, Laos. We have access to guitars, drums, and some other instruments. But the more traditional the better. Wouldn't be a big event, more of a trial / fun day.

Please message me if you have any ideas. Thanks.

Alex.

We won't have any instruments with us, but we plan to be in Laos in Jan/Feb 14.
My bloke can play a bit of guitar (although he's rather better at repairing them...) and we'd love to join in if possible.
Please let us know when you have a confirmed date.

Hey There!

My wife and I will be there over new years and I'll have a guitar and she can sing (and is ancestrally Irish).
Is that of interest? We LOVE connecting with locals and playing/singing.

Ancestrally Irish? Not sure what that means, but if a gaelic connection is required, my man's mother was Irish, and my best mate lives in Scotland. ;-)
