Furniture in Kampala

My girlfriend and I ( onedegreenorth.net ) have just moved to Kampala Uganda. We just found a gorgeous house just outside the city but we're looking for furniture. Since the stores don't take credit cards it's a bit of a challenge to purchase everything at once. Has anyone had any experience doing this? If so we'd appreciate some advice.

Would be easier & much cheaper to go to one of the workshops out on Entebbe Rd Past the clocktower and have some made. But you need an african friend to go and discuss the prices first, otherwise you'll get grossly overcharged.
