No, you certainly are not. There are currently no trains from Turkey to Georgia. You'll have to take a bus or fly.

Yes, of course there are. There are many, many places to see in the country of Georgia. However, this is the kind of vague, open-ended question most posters on this forum find extremely annoying. Don't ask people to write an entire travel guide for you. Do a little research on the country on your own--you could start here, or even here on the Lonely Planet site-- then come back and ask more sensible questions about specific destinations. My own Georgian Top 10 must-sees would be: 1) Svaneti 2) Tbilisi 3) Vardzia 4) Kazbegi 5) Kakheti 6) Borjomi / Bakuriani 7) Davit Gareja 8) Batumi 9) Mtskheta 10) Gori / Uplitsikhe

The long-awaited Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway is not finished yet. Expect to wait at least another year before you can use this.

You can get as far as Kars by rail, but if you want to visit Georgia then best to leave the train at Erzurum as it has better transport connections. Most buses from Erzurum or Trabzon to Georgia pass through Batumi first.

Every region of Georgia has something interesting so you really need to do some research and ask more specific questions. In half a year here my favorite places have been Khevsureti (far and above everything else), Kazbegi, Racha, Vardzia, David Gareji, and of course Tbilisi.

I agree with celticbhoy7, Khevsureti is the most spectacular place in Georgia, and out of the 4 mountain regions it's my favourite. It's not so easy to get to, but I've noticed in Didube bus stations they've started biweekly marshrutkas to Shatili - but if you go without a tour make sure to take food and supplies with you. Second choice for the mountains I would say Svaneti is a good choice. Tusheti is gorgeous too but more expensive and difficult to get to, while Mestia is 2.5 hours on the marshrutka from Zugdidi (or 5 hours from Batumi). Davit Gareji, Vardzia and Gori/Mtskheta are also really interesting places to visit, another favourite place for me was Ushguli in Svaneti. If you're looking for a more personal account on various destinations in Georgia, I've been here for two months and been keeping a blog on all the places I've visited complete with pictures - might be of use to you. http://southcaucasian-odyssey.blogspot.com
