from the airport in caracas to maracay

Hi,

I would like to go straight to Maracay from the airport in Caracas by bus. What is the best way to get from the airport to a bus terminal where I can take a bus to Maracay? Any idea how much a taxi would cost? Thanks!

Going from Caracas International Airport is definitely an option, nevertheless, you run the risk of being overcharged if you book a cab straight from airport. The best option would be to arrange a land transfer with a travel agency or posada in Choroni. If travelling by bus I'd suggest using one of the private bus terminals (Flamingo, Aeroexpresos Ejecutivos) to get the bus to Maracay. La Bandera, the public bus terminal, is in quite a dodgy area but buses to Maracay are more frequent than at the private ones.
