| koitame14:32 UTC12 Mar 2008 | Hello! I hear that a visa through Sudan from Ethiopia is very difficult. Does anyone have info on this? Can I travel from Ethiopia up to Egypt by any type of boat (commercial/cargo)? Any suggestions are welcome!

| dn19:39 UTC22 Mar 2008 | Hi Koitame, I am getting to Ethiopia later this week and will try andget a Sudanese visa there, the Embassy here in India is not issuing tourist visas, but I have also been told by contacts that getting a visa and moreover getting it on time in Addis is also a problem. In case you do get any info, please do email. Cheers, and good luck.

Go to the Embassy of Egypt (near Sixth Kilo) and apply the Visa for Egypt there. You should take two photos, your passport and a copy of the passport with you. Also the Embassy of Egypt wants that you change money in a bank to recieve the money for the Visa in Ethiopian Birr. They also need the recipe with your name on it. The Embassy don't take any other currency. The cost of the Visa depends on your Nationality. You will recieve the Visa on the next day. Take a copy of it. Go to the Embassy of Sudan (near the Headquarter of the Federal Police) and take with you: The copy of the Egyptian Visa, to be sure two copies of your passport, your passport and 61,- USD. The embassy of Egypt opens at 9:00 a.m. from Mo. to Fr. The official times for applying the Visa for Sudan are Mo., We. and Fri. from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If necessary, try to get there also at the other days and let not send you away. They open from time to time. I think it's also possible to go there at afternoon if you have the time.
