From Cuba to the Lesser Antillies

Country forums / Cuba / Cuba

Hi fellow travellers
We are two scandinavian women travelling from Mexico to Cuba, from Cuba to the Lesser Antillies and down to Trinidad and Tobago.

And here is our problem, we want to go from Cuba to some / any island in north end of the Lesser Antillies, Vigine Islands or in that area. Do anyone know what flight companies that have flights from Cuba to this area? We don't want to be 'forced' to go back to Mexico and go from there again.

Do anyone have some tips for nice places in the Caribbeas where people are nice, easy to get in contact with, where food is good, diving is nice,,,,, the list goes on...

Eli from Norway

Eli, you require an onward ticket when entering Cuba, you can book multi destination flights, if you can't find one on the internet, contact a travel agent .

Eli, your best bet is to fly from Mexico to Cuba and from Cuba to the Dominican Republic with Cubana the Aviacion, American Airlines has daily flights from the Dominican Republic to St.Maarten, the Las Vegas of the eastern caribbean and serves also as a hub to all the surrouding islands including my Anguilla, you should be able to map out your route and purchase all your tickets online, if not contact a travel agent.

Bonaire!!!
Absolutely number one diving destination in the Caribbean, nice food, nice people, cute little island.

OP

Check your map. The Caribbean is one rather large lake!

Narrowing down your destination from the vague term Lesser Antilles to a specific island would help. Some of these are independant nation states. If it's the (US) Virgin Islands you are after, the flight restrictions are obvious. If you do not wish to go back to Mexico, do your searches from Kingston Jamaica or Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic as you can connect to these two cities from Cuba.
