have no idea why anyone would consider Melbourne/Hong Kong/ Helsinki/ London / Amsterdam / Dublin. or Melbourne/Singapore/Paris/Frankfurt/London/Dublin
why not a direct flight or at least Melb/London/Dublin
if the above are mucking around with budget airlines, you probably not saving much in the long run.

| extragon18:10 UTC19 Sep 2007 | #1 The airports listed read, to me, as alternatives, and not part of a tour. After the price, the thing to consider is if you need a visa, in case your flight is delayed and you want to drop into town. I'd avoid China, and Doha; you might be different.

You can get quotes for those journeys at STA travel etc, which track when cheap fares come on the market.
I would have thought Melbourne _london is a very competitive route. Then get a cheap flight with BMI,Aer Lingus or Ryanair to Dublin.
Just avoid school holidays and Christmas. February/November are usually cheapest
