Flower festival, Medellin - Medellin or San Gill??

Hey!

just deciding whether to head back to Bogota from Cartagena via Medellin or SanGil - just wondered if anyone had any recommendations? Has anyone been to the flower festival - is it cool? is it hard to find accommodation at this time?
Really only have one or two days to spend there on the way down so would only be to check out the flower festival or to chill in San Giil... would really appreciate any suggestions...

The Flower Festival in Medellin is perhaps the most interesting festival / carnival during the second semester of each year. It's a weeklong festival with many different events, among them the Antique Car parade, the Horse Parade, concerts, street concerts and parties and more, and the main event, the Flower Parade, August 12th.

It's difficult to find accomodations during this week, especially cheap ones.

you should get to San Gil if you can. great rafting, rappeling, hiking etc

Agree whole heartedly with #2 San gil is beutifull and calm, some of the best rafting Ive done. there is also a place to camp outside of town, pescaraditos, and it is a short very short hike to some beutifull swiiming holes and cliff diving, if you like that sort of thing. Have fun!
