| mouse2401:53 UTC28 May 2007 | Hi there, am trying to find a flight from KTM to delhi for early december - I know this is a little early, but even when I try flights in june I get no where (I have tried using ebookers, kayak, etc). Have looked with air sahara & indian but seem to hit a dead end each time!!?? Would do the overland thing, but am already going with intrepid from delhi to ktm, and will be able to maximise trekking time if I just fly back to delhi (my flight home is out of delhi). Any ideas??...I am stuck! What should I expect to pay?

| knr03:02 UTC28 May 2007 | Hey mouse,
I just got back from KTM about 1.5 months ago and did the same thing as you (flew in and out of Dehli). It was a pain to book that flight from here since a lot of travel agents only deal with air Sahara. Anyways, for my flight home from Dehli to KTM i just bought it in KTM, super easy. I think Air Nepal is about 90USD and about 120USD for a little nicer of an airlines. You shouldnt have any problem booking out of KTM it will probably actually save you a lot of headache. good luck and enjoy! but dont get stuck in Pokhara like most people do.

| bilan04:08 UTC28 May 2007 | Hi there,
I'm flying out of KTM to Dehli end of June and got my flight through airtrek.com They put me on Jet Air. I got through a larger round the world package but they also do fairly good deals on one-way tickets so might be worth checking it out. Best of luck!

| kevinrl09:00 UTC28 May 2007 | I got a quote from a travel agent here in Australia, on Sahara for AU$190. This was for the end of September, 4 pm flight, but have read that they are regularly 2 hours late in leaving, but that is fine to catch a 11pm flight out of Delhi. I am also doing the Intrepid thing overland to Kathmandu. Kevin

| mouse2415:28 UTC28 May 2007 | Thanks everyone - think I will aim to book once in KTM - I am there nearly 3 weeks before I need to fly out, so will that give me enough time to arrange a cheap-ish flight? Any recommendations for who to book with ie agent or direct with airline? Cheers, Erin

| la_vache14:42 UTC29 May 2007 | I just did the trip on Jet, and got a ticket with 1-day notice. Travel agents will want to see your India visa before issuing the ticket, although you can transit to in international flight without a visa if you never leave the airport. I didn't think this was possible, but a fellow traveller did so twice.
Sahara is being bought by Jet, so the choices may be more limited by December.

| schiffa05:10 UTC01 Jun 2007 | You can buy the ticket through http://www.flightnetwork.com/ , they list several airlines for Kathmandu-Delhi route.
I called Jet Airways directly and bought the tickets through the phone. The toll free number for the US is 1-877-835-9538 and for the UK 0800-026-5626. (the UK number will change from June 15 to 0808-101-1199 –this is info from their website www.jetairways.com ).
I reserved yesterday tickets for August 12 and I was told that they had last two seats, so it seems quite reasonable to do it in advance. The price was $164 + $25 Fedex fees for one way KTM-DEL ticket.
