Im going to Israel to visit some friends studying at the University of Haifa in january, I. E. arrival January , Visa 3 months, returnticket for August? Would that give me any problems at the airport. Also with the financial crisis and all I was wondering if anybody knows if Swiss Air is likely to go "tits up" within the near future, if so I wont be putting my money on them. Hope someon can help me...
If your visa whilst you are in the country, there is an issue as you are technically there illegally. I guess you mean you are flying back from Ben Gurion? You will leave and re-enter Israel so I would imagine your visa would be renewed then. I see what you mean now, having written that! I dont know - I would maybe contact the Israeli embassy to ask before you travel. I dont think Swiss Air is in any more trouble than anyone else at the moment! Hope this helps a bit! | 1
And if you buy your ticket with a creditcard, you can get your money back if an airline goes bankrupt. But I really don't think Swiss will be one of them (it's a subsidiary of Lufthansa!) | 2
Don't see why it should be a problem. Visas can be extended. In any case, tell the officials your plans, that you are leaving Israel for Jordan and Egypt and will return later to take your flight out. You can get another visa on your second trip. Why don't you fly out of Cairo or Amman, to save you the return journey, if that will be your only reason for returning to Israel? | 3
