fjords and Northen light

Greetings:

My friends and me will go to Norway on 29th of Dec, we previously planed to go Lofoten islands to see northen lights and then go to Bergen to enjoy fjords, but some of my friends said it is dangerous to see fjords in winter cause the montains are steep and slippery, so we are going to go Lofoten, Oslo and, Nordkapp if it is impossible, since we don't have routes for reaching Nordkapp, does anyone has good advise??? thank you!
