First time in Mozambique

Assuming I would have to fly into Maputo and would only have about a week in country, what would you suggest? I would primarily like to hang out on a beach. Not somewhere totally isolated. Would like some nightlife and more than meager lodging.

Mozambique is an awesome country to visit. It is so different to the rest of Southern Africa. If you have only a week and want to relax on the beach I could suggest an alternative. Why not fly to Inhambane and spend the week in on Tofo Beach. There are tons of places to stay and bars right on the beach. You can also do day trips from there.

Another great option would be to fly from Johannesburg to Vilanculos and go and explore the Bazaruto Archipelago Islands.
