Few things you need to know about NoronhaCountry forums / South America / Brazil
Hello, Ok. Let´s stop talking boring issues and let´s go to Fernando de Noronha! If you´re interested in Fernando de Noronha island, I bet you already read about the idyllic beaches, and it´s real true! However, all people write about it and, as there are only few beaches, i´m afraid to fall in repetition if I write about how beautiful the beaches are. So, I prefer to focus on other facts, not much nice, about Noronha´s spot. Prepair your wallet! You must pay for everything. And everything is also expensive, even to locals. as soon as you arrive into airport, you need to pay the “preservation tax”. This tax is charged by person and costs about $ 120 for 7 days stay. That´s just to stay in the island, nothing else included! Most of the beaches belong to ICMBIO, a government organization, that charges you $ 30/week (2015/may) to allow your entrance to the beaches. Accommodation also isn´t an easy task. Well, It´s easy if you have $300/day to spend on it. Then you can stay in one of the big and fancy hotels there. But, if you are like me and don´t want (and don´t have) much money to throw out by the window, you must stay in one of the many simple - but cleaned - guest houses there, and it´s not really cheap, it costs about $70/day for just bed and breakfast. The only thing I didn´t find much expensive is to have meals. You can find good food with a fair price. Well, that´s it. I Hope I don´t frustrate the expectations about this incredible Island, just want to give an advice to what is waiting for you and your pockets there. So, prepair your money and go check in!
Cheers Marcos. Interesting post. Your English is really very good: -) | 1
Good post, Marcos. I agree. You've got great English language skills. | 2
Nice advices man. Your english is so good. What about the flight, is it expensive? | 3
Flights to/from Noronha are expensive, just like pretty much everything else is (as Marcos already stated). But if you can afford it, it's money well spent IMO. | 4
Nice job writing in English. Are the prices in USD$ or R$? | 5
