Expat forums and english websitesCountry forums / North-East Asia / South Korea
Hello all, I am beginning research for a documentary a friend and I are hoping to shoot in Seoul summer 2014 and need some good info on where to look. It is about marriage laws and the current state of Korean marriages and we are looking to work with Korean and expat subjects. So I would like to know if anyone can refer me to any good forums for expats living in South Korea and also news and other websites about Korea but in English. My friend/co-director is Korean, so she knows plenty of Korean websites. However, my Korean isn't too great these days, being a white guy from New York and all. So anyone know good forums, blogs, websites in English all about the awesome life that happens in South Korea?? Thanks everyone!

The big forums are waygook.org and http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/. There's also http://www.expatkorea.com/bbs/ which is smaller (and cruder) but maybe has some more longterm expats. | 2
My personal blog is about my time here and I go into detail about some of the trials and tribulations as a teacher at a Hogwon. We've had a tough few months with late paychecks and all kinds of things that are completely unprofessional especially to have in a school. English teaching is a large part of the economy here and probably 90% of the foreigners here are English teachers in some capacity. On a lighter note I also have written about my trips seeing many of the outdoorsy tourist locations including Sokcho Seoraksan, Bukhansan, Suwon Hwaesong, Namsanand more! I've written about nights out in Hongdae, Itaewon & Gangnam, apartment hunting and some of the other basics that a foreigner moving here will have to deal with like buying a computer or signing up for a phone. There are great palaces too! I know none of that is about marriage laws or weddings but I hope it helps. Who knows maybe I'll get invited to a Korean wedding and have a little more insight for you. Hope you enjoy. I'm happy to answer any other questions you have. | 3
The blog the Marmots hole might be a good source http://www.rjkoehler.com/ | 4
