Evening/Overnight bus from Taipei to Wuling FarmCountry forums / North-East Asia / Taiwan
I would like to know if it is possible to take a bus from Taipei to Wuling farm in the evening or even overnight? I will touch down Taiyuan Airport about 4PM and really wanna get to Wuling farm on the same night so I can start the Xueshan trek on the next day. I've done research on some popular websites/blogs; most buses from Taipei/Yilan to Wuling farm depart early in the morning or about noon. Btw, I'm from Singapore, will be traveling to Taiwan this Aug (8th-12th). Looking for a hiking partner too.
Unfortunately, there's no bus heading to Wuling farm at night. The road condition is that area may be unsafe for buses after dark. | 1
Hi binhho - just wondering what you did in the end. I'm in a similar situation: I signed up to go to Wuling Farm with a group (private transport), but the whole thing was cancelled so now I'm left with a flight to Taipei (landing at 4pm) and no way to get to the trailhead. If anybody feels like hiking the Sixiu from Wuling Farm on 18 Oct - 20 Oct, let me know, I now need new hiking partners. I will make a separate post about this. | 2
Oh, I took a train from the airport to Yilan; stayed at a hotel in Yilan for a night and took the morning public bus (7AM) from Yilan to Wuling farm. I hitchhiked to the trail head. The road to the trail head was quite steep and long so I would not recommend walking. Would take u a few hours. | 3
Thanks. This is the conclusion I've come to as well, and will do the same. | 4
