Hi All, I am looking at heading to Laos but I only have a couple of weeks to see as much as possible. For this reason I have been looking at trying to find a tour that can take me to all the highlights without having everything each day planned for me and without being on a huge tour bus. http://www.seelaosdifferently.com/special-offer-limited-time-only/ Can anyone tell me whether this does include a good itinerary for a short visit? Thank you
The itinerary is...pretty standard I guess.Too fast for me..too little time in some places. Anyway..if you want, you can do all that easily enough yourself, and at a much lower price than that..... | 1
Seems pretty pointless apart from the driver, you can cover all that on a bus. 2 days in Champasak? Why not just fly to LP and then head south? | 2
For me, it misses out one of the highlights of Laos - Plain of Jars. I think you have three choices - 1/do this tour and you will see a lot of Laos, including the south. | 3
Honestly I think you could skip Vientiane. A bit boring. I did notice that there were flights that arrived in the morning and then flights that left at 1700 so you could just do a quick day trip in the city then head out. Definitely check out Plains of Jars, and spend 3-4 days in LP. I didn't make it to Pakse, etc as I only had 10 days and wish I spent 2 of the days in Pakse. | 4
As said above it is very easy to do all this by yourself and at a far lower cost. In these days of widespread global tourism and plenty internet info resources there really isn't any need for guided tours. Laos is a big country with long travel times between places. In a couple of weeks you should just stick to the north - see Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang & Plain of Jars. This is plenty. If you have a few says left over you could visit Nong Khiaw &/or Muang Ngoi as a side trip from LP. | 5
