Entering Czech Republic from north of Linz in Austria

Hello

I am currently in the village of Lembach im Muhlkreis, about an hour by bus north of Linz in Austria. On Friday I am thinking of crossing the border into the Czech Republic for a week, before returning to Austria for a further commitment. Relying on public transport, do I have to backtrack into Linz and travel by train, or does anybody know of possibilities of visiting other villages on the Austrian-Czech border and crossing by bus?

Don't know about buses but the trains from Linz to Ceske Budejovice stop at numerous stations up to and including Freistadt and Summerau on the Austrian side of the border...if you do a query (Anfrage) on the Deutsch Bahn site then you'll be able to bring up the intermediate stations (Zwischenhalte einblenden) and see which one is closest to you at Lembach...

Thanks for that information - I'll look into whether any intermediate stops on that train go near Lembach, or to or near one of the limited destinations other than Linz on busroutes that service Lembach.
