entebbe or kampla?

Country forums / Africa / Uganda

Hi,

I'm going to Uganda for 2 weeks and will be arriving early afternoon. At first I thought of staying in Entebbe for a night and setting out early the next morning to Kampala's bus station, but now I'm wondering if I should brave the city and spend my first night in Kampala... I know that Entebbe has a few things to do around, but I was thinking of saving them for the end of my trip if I have some time left.

Any thoughts? Any recommendation as for where to stay for a single woman, either Entebbe or Kampala?

I stayed at this place, Entebbe Backpackers. They have a good variety of rooms, serve food and beer and there's a nice garden.

Entebbe backpackers looks like a pretty cool place kaz.

Was in Kampala and also spent my last day in Uganda in Entebbe. Entebbe is nice little town, but a town you can do without. There isn't really much to see. i suggest going straight to Kampala. No matter what you want to do, Kampala has it more and better.

Thanks everyone! Think will go for Kampala since I want to head off early the next morning.

Lawrence, those places you suggest, are they in Kampala or Entebbe?

Thanks again!

Can recommend New City Annex on Dewinton Rd just up from a bus
station--my bus from Nairobi arrived there so a 4 min walk to that hotel
They have a restaurant which serves very goog food [specially breakfast]
