easy trekking in mt. everst area? in June..

Country forums / Indian Subcontinent / Nepal

Hello.. Im going to Nepal in the middle of June. I know its a horrible time to go there, because of the monsoon, but its the only time I can go. Since im working here in India.

I want to visit the mt. everst area... you know, so I can say ive been there.. But offcourse to enjoy the fantastic views, and culture. I just want to do some easy trekking / touristing.. Walking frmo town to town, and sleeping in guesthouses..or worse. Just walking around alone, without tents and porters. Is this possible? And do you have any recommondations for a 7-14 days "trek"?

Thank you so much!

It depends on your definition of "easy". Some parts of the EBC trek are quite strenuous, and you are at a fairly high altitude. You can stay in lodges all along the way. You do need warm clothes, good boots, and a sleeping bag as a minimum.

hi there,

If you got only 7-14 days, you can do the Annapurna trek cause it is easier and more routes to choose from.

If you want to go to EBC, that will take you 10 days at least for going up and down. Maybe you can cut it short by just seeing the panorama of the Himalayas which is about 1.5 hours walkiind distance away from Namche Bazaar. You can make this in 5 days in an easy way.

As you are going in the monsoon, so leechi will be a problem. Be prepare for that.

There are lots of guesthouses with very good food and accomodation in both area, so dont worry about it. Some of the guesthouses may be closed for business reason in monsoon.

Cheers!
