Eastern Kalahari and Bushman Cultural Safari

Country forums / Africa / Namibia

I heartily recommend using the tour services of Uakii Wilderness Survival at www.uakii.com for almost any trip in Namibia. We took a 3 day camping trip with Peter-Hain Kazapua to a San village and also a Batswana village. The San women demonstrated beading skills and the men showed how to make arrows and bows and a fire. They took us on a walk to find medicinal and food plants and at the end they danced for us and we could buy some of their crafts. In the Batswana village the Meropa dance and singing group performed for us, we were fed, and then we sat around the campfire singing with the group for 2+ hours. It was fantastic all around. The 3-day trip cost us US$320. Peter-Hain is an impressive guide with a passion for cultural interactions. He worked as a tour guide for 10 years and now has his own company. He can arrange more typical tours as well to Etosha and any other Namibian sites.
