Easter Island accommodationCountry forums / South America / Chile
Hi All, I'll be in Easter Island from the 12th until the 18th December and wanted some suggestions on the best approach for accommodation as I've heard it can be really overpriced. I've read about the camping possibility but as I plan to walk and cycle around rather than rent any car/motorcycle I'd rather have a room where I can keep and lock up my 60l rucksack etc. Thanks
The Mihinoa camping site near the airport on Ave Pont also has also rooms for rent. You can easily walk there from the airport. At least they did have rooms when I stopped by to check them out last April! Check them out at www.Minihoa.com. No, I am not related! Sorry I can not remember the hotel where I stayed but ( hopa, ropa?? ) was a dump for $ 70 a night...pictures in the web looked nice but nothing had an ocean view. | 1
we are going to be staying at the Mihinoa camp site when we go, and their website says that campers have access to: hot showers, free airport pick up, kitchen facilities, and lockers. It doesn't seem like there is really anywhere else to camp, and all the other accommodation is outside our price range so I guess it depends on what you are willing to sacrifice in terms of accommodation | 2
