East Africa visa

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy east Africa visa at the land border crossing between Tanzania and Kenya? I would be very grateful for the information.

I do not know the answer to your question. What I do know is that Kenya is stopping visa on arrival from 1 Sep 2015. So from 1 Sep, I doubt you will get any visa at the border.

I too don't know the answer but two days ago I applied last week for EAVISA on line through lusaka and was given full confirmation by email within 2 days. Very efficient... Expect if you have the visa you will get it??? Note you must get visa from country you are arriving from.. since I am in Zambia I applied in lusaka embassy.... they then send you a full copy of visa etc etc and you pay on arrival... good luck

Travellinandi: thanks for the answer, did you aplly for the EASVISA at Kenya embassy in Lusaka? I will be in Tanzania by the time so I could easily pick it up in Dar es Salaam but of course there is lack of information on that topic at their website

The East African visa is for Kenya-Uganda-Rwanda. Tanzania is not part of the visa.

Tanzanian is NOT part of the East Africa visa.
the East Africa visa is only good for Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
you need to Pay $50 US dollars to get a Tanzanian visa.

i got EAV in april 2015 in nairobi airport,it was still valid for 3 countries only

i was going into rwanda so i did rwanda embassy in lusaka. My understanding is you must apply at the place you are coming from... since I was to be coming from lusaka. I needed to get the visa in Zambia... if i was flying to Kenya from Lusaka then I would have to get visa from Kenya embassy in lusaka... I tried to get a ea visa in Dar /zanzibar and was told I could not because my direct travel path was not Dar to Rwanda, ugan, or kenya.... FYI... if you do the evisa thing the entrance point must be listed... for rwanda it takes you to a second screen filled with numbered points (ie kigali is 1)you then push on the number. NOTHING happens unleds you blow up the screen to a bigger size if using a mobile phone... Took 10 minutes of frustration before figured it out!!

And ps... Tanzania is NOT Part of EA visa... tried as well and answe is NO

no problems,young guy from immigration had to go to another window for a sticker with visa and wrote in 6 months validity! than put a stamp and beside wrote 3 months validity - i think it was referred to stay in kenya so my EAV is still valid

No problems yet, just trying to figure out my intinerary and I was not sure whether it's available only at the airport or at land border crossing as well

Land border crossings were available if going to rwanda.. think there were something like 18 points of entry.. no idea for kenya or uganda

As of now, Tanzania not yet part of the EAC Visa. Uganda and Rwanda .. Ok.
