e-Visa Entry and Exit Points

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Vietnam

Hello all,

I'm planning on obtaining an e-visa for Vietnam. I want to know how strict immigration is with regards to the checkpoints you submit with your visa application. I'm reasonably sure that I will be flying into Hanoi, but I am not sure yet where I will exit from. Will I have issues if I attempt to enter or exit from a border crossing other than what I list? Particularly, I am considering crossing into China via train at Dong Dang and I don't see this listed as an option on the visa application.

Thanks!

If the exit points are specifically listed that means that's the rule, if you don't keep it you could be turned back or face a fine etc. But did you try writing to them and asking them? They should have some form of customer service.

Hey! I took the train from Hanoi to Nanning which passes through Dong Dang and they told me I was not allowed back on the train. I had to take a cab 3km away to Huu Nghi Landport and then go through a hell of a immigration line (3 hours crammed in).
