DUBAI – best time to visit

Country forums / Middle East / United Arab Emirates

I would like to visit Dubai, but cannot decide the right time. Ideal weather is in November – no longer so hot as in the summer, but water very hot. But in January/February is the Dubai Shopping Festival with better shopping oportunities – but weather (average 24 C air / 23 water) is not ideal for swimming in the sea and in the water park Aquaventure. What do you think – are there much better prices in the shops and mall during the Shopping festival, or they are good also before it ? What are the prices in Dubai malls – similar to that ones in the USA ?
Are in Dubai also some markets with fake clothes etc. as in the other asian countries?
Thanks for every advice.

I find Dubai more expensive than the US (and UK).

It depends what you want to buy and where you are coming from. If the place you live in does not have designer brands, then shopping in Dubai makes sense. Otherwise, it is a rather over rated as a shopping destination.

The range of shops which offer discounts during the DSF are increasingly reducing - and those that do offer discounts tend to recycle their non moving stock during this time.

More of fake handbags / fake watches than fake clothes.but yes, you may hit potluck in the Karama market.

Water (if you mean the sea ) is not hot in November. During the summer months pools are chilled / heated during the winter months. Oct/Nov is an ideal time to visit - days are clear and temp is nice.
Shopping Festival is not what it used to be.
Dubai is fantastic for it's range of shopping not it's prices.
